The list isn’t in any particular order, but they’re all coming to the UK some time this year, so keep an eye out. We’ll be updating with full reviews when we get the chance to spend more time with them all, but for the moment this is what we think after spending some hands-on time with them.
Best of MWC 2017: LG G6
LG’s latest flagship phone is bold, bright, and beautiful. The huge 5.7in screen comes with almost no bezels along the edges, which means LG has managed to fit a massive display into a relatively compact device. We love the new 18:9 aspect ratio, and the whole construction is slick and impressive. There’s a lot to love here, and very little to complain about. Find out more in our LG G6 hands-on review.
Best of MWC 2017: Sony Xperia Touch
This short-throw projector can turn just about any flat surface into an Android device, projecting the OS and using infra-red and the built-in camera to register touch input too. You can change the orientation, so you could project it onto a table for working or playing a game on, and then swap round and direct it at the wall or ceiling when you want to watch Netflix. At €1499 it’s not cheap, but it is very, very cool. Read our Sony Xperia Touch hands-on review.
Best of MWC 2017: Huawei P10
MWC 2017 only saw a few flagship phone announcements, but the Huawei P10 was one of our favourites. It’s a slick update to the P9, boasting great dual cameras, waterproofing, and a slim, compact design. It even comes in a few different colours, so if you’ve ever wanted a green smartphone, now’s your chance. Read our Huawei P10 hands-on review.
Best of MWC 2017: Nokia 3310
It feels a little odd that one of the biggest tech announcements of MWC was the re-release of a 17-year-old device, but then the 3310 isn’t just any phone. This reimagining of one of the most popular handsets of all time gives it a few modern(ish) twists, like a camera and MP3 support, and backs it up with a full month of battery life. Sure, you could buy another feature phone for a fraction of the price, but for anyone who ever owned the original 3310, this will be hard to turn down. Best of MWC 2017: Moto G5
The Moto G4 used to be our favourite mid-range smartphone – but that was before the G5 came along. With a slick metal body, rapid charging, and fingerprint sensor gesture controls, the Moto G5 feels like a flagship, but in fact only costs £169. It’s pretty exceptional value, and you’d struggle to get a better phone at anywhere near that price. Find out more in our Moto G5 hands-on.
Best of MWC 2017: Samsung Galaxy Tab S3
We may have been hoping for a Galaxy S8 announcement from Samsung at MWC, but we’re pretty happy with the Tab S3. Samsung’s iPad Pro rival boasts the same slick design language that the company has become known for, with a beautiful 9.7in screen with HDR support and four speakers from audio company AKG. Best of MWC 2017: BlackBerry KEYone
BlackBerry is betting that there’s still a market for physical keyboards with the KEYone, and this is a phone that could convert a few sceptics. Build quality is premium throughout, and the keyboard both looks and feels great. Meanwhile BlackBerry’s tweaks to Android 7.1 really make the most of the hardware, and offer some clever productivity perks. Find out more in our BlackBerry KEYone hands-on review.
