Pre-Requisites:

Install Huawei USB drivers on PC, to recognize your phone when connected via USB cable.
It is recommended to unlock the bootloader of your phone before installing TWRP. Refer:
Backup your contacts, apps, google accounts, messages, call logs, notes, etc. for safety.
Steps to install TWRP Recovery on Huawei Y9 Prime:
Step 1: Open your phone Settings. Step 2: Now click on System.
Step 3: On the next screen, click on About Phone.
Step 4: In the About Phone section, tap on the Build number 7 times to unlock developer mode.
Tap on it until a message saying, ”You are now a developer” pops up.
Step 5: Go back to Settings » System and click on Developer options.
Step 6: Under Developer options, enable OEM Unlock and USB debugging options.
Step 7: Download ADB and Fastboot. Step 8: Install the ADB drivers on your PC. Step 9: Download TWRP.img. Step 10: Copy this TWRP.img file to the location C:\Program Files\Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder (where you’ve installed the ADB and fastboot). So you’ll have these files in the ADB and Fastboot folder:
Step 11: Using a USB cable, connect your Huawei Y9 Prime to PC. Step 12: Go to the location C:\Program Files\Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder, hold the Shift button, and right mouse click on a space. You’ll see a list of options from which select the Open command window here option. This will open the command prompt window.
